Contax G1 Green Label ZEISS Planar lens 45mm f2

The Contax G1 is a 45mm autofocus electronic rangefinder camera.

Year of production between 1994 and 96.

The Contax G1 uses the "G" mount, an electronic autofocus mount. Critics immediately accused the camera of not being a "true" (mechanical) rangefinder, as it used autofocus and electronically linked mechanisms. But the AF mechanism of the G1, and later the G2 (introduced in 1996), actually uses a dual-window system very similar to that of older mechanical rangefinders, only in an electronic version. One advantage of Contax G viewfinders over other rangefinder cameras is that they always display the correct view with lenses from 28mm to 90mm (zoom rangefinders), and the same is true for close-up focusing, as they also feature parallax correction.

This version is the so-called green label , that is, updated to also use the lenses for the G2.

Excellent condition both aesthetically and in operation.
