Rollei 35 Zeiss Tessar 3.5/40 lens
Rollei 35 Zeiss Tessar 3.5/40 lens
Thanks to Heinz Waaske's revolutionary design, the first Rollei 35 appeared in 1966 in direct competition with the half frame format introduced in 1961.
Being a 35 mm camera slightly larger than a pack of cigarettes, the Rollei had great commercial success, selling millions of copies. Nearly every aspect of the camera has been specifically designed with the goal of making it as compact as possible. The shutter was made by Compur but based on Waaske's design which allows the use of a folding lens. Gossen supplied the CDS light meter used to save space.
The machine works perfectly, it only has some small aesthetic imperfections on the top (but this is a very common thing on these machines.
Unfortunately, it does not have a cap or case but it has a Rollei filter that protects the lens.
