The Yashica FX-D was proposed as a poor cousin of the Contax 139 with which it shared not only the optics and accessories, but also most of the parts: the frame, in die-cast aluminum is the same, as are the dimensions, the general appearance and the shutter performance controlled by a quartz crystal, a real novelty for those times, as well as the very sensitive electromagnetic shutter button.

Like its predecessors, this model can mount all Contax/Yashica lenses with manual focus, including the superb Carl Zeiss T* lenses intended for the Contax line.

Some aesthetic defects and the ISO ring has lost a few teeth, all in all in good condition and perfectly functional.
